Oh, there are many occasions. We have our fair share of horrors - I 
mentioned the Armenian thing in the article, but we also have our 
fair share of honourable deeds.

Just a comment on that. A Marxist (and atheist) pointed out to me 
that she didn't agree with that last sentence, because it gives the 
impression that people are inherently bad and that's not true. Of 
course, I agree with her that its not true; that's my philosophical 
position. However, we do all have the potential to be inhuman.

I cant answer. Especially when you consider that in many of these 
cases - in Rwanda and similar ones in Bosnia - people were being 
killed, raped and humiliated by their neighbours and (former) 
friends.

I don't know. Perhaps the mob psychology helps?
