My name is David Hitchcock. I've been a member of Alcor for many years. Although my primary work is as a software engineer, I am also a writer. One of my more successful books is Patent Searching Made Easy - now in its 5th edition.

I have wanted to write a screenplay about Cryonics for a number of years. Even though there are several movies in which Cryonics was featured (ex: Forever Young), I believe that the true potential of Cryonics has never been realized on the big screen. Subject: Chinese translation of "Prospect"

Courtesy of Dr. Charles Tandy, I have a hard cover copy of a new edition of 
 The Prospect of Immortality, bilingual with both American English and  
traditional Chinese. Translator is Dr. Sinclair T. Wang; editor is Dr. Charles  
Tandy; publisher is Ria University Press, Palo Alto CA.
 
The facing pages, rather remarkably, take about the same space in English  
and Chinese.
 
Will it have any impact on recruitment? Anybody's guess. There are over a  
billion Chinese and their economy is expanding, and they may be free of some 
of  the ideological baggage that affects the Western countries. 
 
There is already also a Russian version, which I haven't seen, and a Korean 
 translation will probably be forthcoming before too long. The old book has 
 legs.

Every activity in history started out as something only a minority wanted to do. Understanding the cultural forces that make some of them into a majority activity is what needs to be done. 

Social movement theory is the current rage in marketing and I have suggested we also consider it.
