and not just over time - they change from place to place, too. in 
sweden the age of consent is 15, and you can drink alcohol from the 
age of 18. i am sure there are places today that a girl is considered 
"legal" after her first period (and a rite of passage?)

delany's literary minors seem to be sexually developed, barely. 
whether this reflects his real-world opinions on sex with minors, we 
don't know. reading his autobiographical works seem to indicate he's 
neither interested in sex with minors nor watersports/scat, whatever 
his fictional works contain.
