Not a whole lot, actually. The protagonist has almost completely
repressed his sexuality, has had sex only a handful of times in his
60+ years of life, and mostly avoids all situations where he would
have the opportunity to do so. There might be some material of the
type you're looking for in the book's third part.

I like what some others have said about _DR_, that it's kind of like
a description of an alternate history version of Delany where instead
of being adventurous and embracing his sexuality, he was timid and
repressed. (And a good poet instead of an awful one...)
