Hello All,
I've just discovered this list, and as another post said, "What a
wonderful way to bring in the New Year"!!
Delany has long been my favorite author for many reasons, he's gay,
black, I'm a nailbiting gay man, writes s/f -whatever you think those
letters stand for sci/fi speculative/fiction etc, his writing makes me
grow/think/opens my mind AND it's meaningful to me <---crucial bit that.
I'm excited to hear about 'Nest' especially if it is on the level of
'Stars in My Pocket' which is my co-favorite of his novels with Dhalgren.
Here's a request to the Universe (and Mr. Delany, if you're
listening), please write 'The Splendor and Misery of Bodies, of
Cities' in time for me to read it before I die. 
I have to say that I've enjoyed reading the few posts I've had time to
read so far, and found several more interesting references along the
way, in particular Doris Lessing's Nobel lecture, but the above quoted
post has hit the nail on the head for me as to why I
read/write/create/breath/continue to live/love - it makes me happy.
