That's an interesting question. I'm not sure Delany actually has a "target audience," except perhaps for Delany himself. (Doesn't Delany say, somewhere, that he writes books that he wants to read but can't find on the shelves...?) The LA Times  reviewer pointed out that this is "someone else's porn," and I'm not sure it's even Delany's...but whatever it is, it isn't remotely titillating to me. That leaves the novelistic aspects, and the stfnal aspects, to interest me: and fortunately, the former are generous, and the latter, though very limited, are tantalizing.

I'm not sure I've answered your question, but that's because it's based on a misunderstanding (mine) earlier in the discussion.
