Dear Friends and Colleagues, We invite submissions for a special issue of Studies in Symbolic Interaction. This guest-edited issue on subcultures (broadly defined) will advance theoretical understandings of the topic, while also developing the SI framework showing its continued utility and application. We especially seek contributions that explore marginalized subcultures, the intersections of identities within subcultures, and the role of place in subcultures. Guidelines: Please send an abstract by June 20, 2019 (250 words maximum) as your intent to submit. Full paper submissions should be between 7,000 – 10,000 words including bibliography. Appendices will be placed at the end of the reference section. Please adhere to the ASA style guide for references and formatting. If you are using images, or other figures, please place them at the back of the paper after references. Timeline: Abstracts (250 words) due by June 20, 2019 Authors submit papers by July 31, 2019 Our goal is for a quick turn around in the review process, to get this journal published and out. We look forward to your submissions and hope to hear from you soon. Please contact Andrea Dassopoulos [email protected] or Chris Conner [email protected] <[email protected]> with any questions.
