The Media and Screen Studies Program of the Communication Studies Department at Northeastern University invites applications for a tenure-track position (assistant professor) in critical media studies with a focus on digital media. We are particularly interested in scholars whose scholarship focuses on the roles of ability, class, ethnicity, gender, nationality, race, or sexuality within local, national and/or global contexts. We invite scholars whose work intersects with critical race studies, diaspora studies, indigenous studies, media activism, or critical perspectives on emerging technologies, but we welcome applicants with other theoretical approaches or areas of specialization. Teaching responsibilities will include courses such as Global Media, Media and Identity, and Media and Social Change. Teaching load is 2/2.
