*Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Transnational United States History *


The Department of History at the University of California, Irvine, seeks to
hire a tenure-track assistant professor in transnational United States
history. We are interested in a U.S. historian of race, indigeneity,
immigration, and/or refugee resettlement with expertise in at least one of
the following areas: Latinx, Southeast Asian American, African American,
African diasporic, Native American, Indigenous, or Pacific Islander
histories. Emphases on gender, sexuality, disability, empire, settler
colonialism or sovereignty are especially welcome.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in History or relevant discipline. Applicants nearing
completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered. Ph.D. must be
completed by the date of appointment (7/1/2020).


Candidates should submit a letter of application describing their research;
a statement of teaching experience and interests*; a statement addressing
how past and/or potential contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion
will advance UC Irvine's commitment to inclusive excellence**; a current
CV; a writing sample not to exceed 30 pages; and a list of three references
with contact information.
