Artists, Engineers, Scientists, and Scholars Imagine the Future of Energy
in New Exhibition

If we want to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees -- as international
experts suggest -- then we are all responsible for thinking creatively
about individual and large-scale solutions. This is the claim made by a
diverse group of artists, activists, designers, engineers, scientists,
policymakers, and other scholars from across the country, who are working
together out of the University of Alberta over a six-year period
(2017-2023) to tackle climate change.

This team, organized under the name Speculative Energy Futures, will debut
their first exhibition, Prototypes for Possible Worlds, in the FAB Gallery
from December 10, 2019-January 11, 2020. This exhibition will feature works
that imagine or predict possible climate and energy futures, focusing on
social justice and community well-being.

Prototypes for Possible Worlds will open with a catered reception on
December 13 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. in the FAB Gallery (1-1 Fine Arts
Building, University of Alberta). For more information, check out
www.speculativenergyfutures.com.
