CAA Sunday Tour to the Zimmerli Art Museum, G aur Private Collection and a Lecture by Robert Storr

*Tour**s** of a Private Collection of Modern Art from India and the
Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers**,** **followed by Robert Storr’s **Lecture
on Contemporary Russian Art*



Please, join us for a special day trip to explore highlights of the New
Jersey art scene. The tour starts with a visit to the home of Umesh and
Sunanda Gaur, site of one of the finest private collections of modern art
from India in the United States. Then, travel to the Zimmerli Art Museum at
Rutgers University for a tour of *Leonid Sokov: Ironic Objects*, the
first major
museum exhibition in the United States of works by this leading Russian
contemporary artist known for his sardonic interpretation of the tropes of
Russian and Western culture. While at the Zimmerli, experience its renowned
collection of Russian and Soviet nonconformist art, nineteenth-century
French art, and American art. The afternoon culminates with a reception and
lecture on Soviet nonconformist art as viewed from the United States by
noted critic and curator Robert Storr, Dean of Yale University School of
Art.

Register early at the CAA annual conference (Booths for special events and
other tickets are located on the 2nd Floor Promenade of the Hilton
Hotel). Limited
availability. Tickets are $55.00 (includes bus transportation, box lunch at
the Zimmerli Art Museum and admission to the lecture by Robert Storr).

Depart the Hilton at 9:15am; depart Zimmerli Art Museum at 4:15pm for
return to New York. Arrive back at the Hilton at 5:15pm.
