Deadline approaching: Call for the 2.5-hour session proposals for the 2017 CAA

This is a reminder that the January 20 deadline for submission of 2.5-hour
sessions proposals for the 2017 CAA is fast approaching.  Please send us
your proposals as close to this deadline as you can.  I am sending along
the original call:

Dear colleagues,


We are looking for volunteers to chair or co-chair a 2.5- hour
SHERA-sponsored panel for CAA 2017 and to come up with a broadly-formulated
theme that explicitly appeals to the full range of our members' interests,
both geographical and chronological.  Since our official reemergence as an
affiliate society at CAA and ASEEES 3 years ago, we have been successful in
soliciting excellent proposals from our members, both for 1.5 and 2.5-hour
sessions.  The CAA procedures and deadlines are changing this year, but we
expect some things to stay the same. While 1.5-hour sessions, the call for
which usually goes out in April, are automatically accepted by CAA,
2.5-hour ones have to be submitted as part of the common application pool,
the call for which will be launched in February 2016, as we were recently
told.  In the past, SHERA wrote letters of support to the CAA conference
committee and had a hundred percent success in having the proposals
accepted.  We hope that this practice continues and urge you to submit your
session proposal  to [email protected] by *January 20, 2016*.
