OAH 2013-Media as Public Service: Constraints and Limitations

I am forming a panel for the OAH 2013 meeting in San Francisco. The
tentative session title is "Media as Public Service: Constraints and
Limitations."  The OAH theme is Entangled Histories: Connections,
Crossings, and Constraints in U.S. History. Here is the link to the

My paper would be on print media's treatment of climate change, 1980-2000,
focusing on Time, Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report.  If you are
