Mike,

As someone who has sung in a few musicals I can tell you from experience
that the singing is the part that is least open to new interpretation.  You
have rehearsed with the musical director, with your vocal coach with
yourself, with the orchestra, with the director alone, with the dancers,
etc.  By the time the curtain goes up you have sung it at least a hundred
times.  It is a motor memory.  You can repeat it exactly time after time.
Matching shots and sound would be no problem.
