This may be a very late entry, but has anyone mentioned Martin Sheen in 'Ap=
ocalypse Now'? From memory, referring to the scene in the hotel room where =
he 'loses it' fuelled by alcohol, he was actually plied with alcohol by his=
 director & he did actually smash the mirror & harm himself. Coppola's wife=
 wrote a book & made a doco. of it.

I realize that this is not a film, however there is an episode of "Castle"
where Laura Prepon is hired to play the Kate Beckett character in the new
Nikki Heat movie.  She is very method and comes to observe Kate Beckett at
the precinct.  You watch her literally grow to 'become' Kate Beckett to the
point where she becomes convinced to complete her character she has to go t=
o
bed with Rick Castle.  Prepon's version of Kate Beckett is spot on.  It is
actually creepy she is so good. :)
