"I've got a theory" Ok, here we go. I'm of the opinion that "The First"
couldn't take the form of the purest souls. By this I mean Joyce and
most of all Tara. And I think this because 1: Yes, it's true Joyce did
appear in season 7, supposedly by the first. Maybe the first was trying
to keep Joyce away with the poltergeist activity. What Joyce said was
true. In the end Buffy wouldn't choose Dawn. It's true that in season 5
Buffy would kill anyone who touched Dawn but in season 7 when Giles was
stalling Buffy so Wood could kill Spike, Buffy herself said that she
would sacrifice Dawn for the world. So therefore, ghost Joyce didn't
lie. And second of all, we all know that Amber couldn't make it and
didn't want to make it in season 7, so Casey Newman came to say she had
a message from Tara. But in terms of plot, Tara MaClay, to me, was the
purest soul to ever touch BTVS, so the first could take her form. Ok,
so there it is. I would LOVE feedback on this. And this goes to prove
that I put WAY TO MUCH thought into these things.
