Canadian series 'Durham County' has some interesting parallels to TP

NEW COP:   Dale Cooper; Mike Sweeney
BACKGROUND:  trees; electric towers
GIRL DETECTIVE (in over her head):  Audrey Horne; Sadie Sweeney
CLIMATE: dark and gloomy in both
LOCAL BRUTE: Leo Johnson; Ray Prager
SENSITIVE TEEN: James Hurley; Ray Prager jr.
OPENING CRIME:  1 teen girl found dead (Laura Palmer); 2 teen girls found dead
PAST HAUNT: Coop had been in love with Windom Earle's wife; Sweeney had had a fling with Prager's girlfriend.

  Biggest difference to me; TP had a nice cast of 2ry charax (Big Ed Hurley, Pete Martell), which DC lacks.  of course a 6-episode season doesn't leave much room for charax devlpt.
  and TP had some good humor bits, which DC lacks, but it's definitely better than the average tv fare.  (and much better than the awful 'Prisoner' remake last week)
