Indeed.

I'm also happy the NNTP service is still up, since that is the reason I
started using Gmane, and continued to use it.

I'm really happy when the community of something I have started working
with has an active mailing list, and that mailing list is on gmane.

I'm really, really, sad when the only way to get in touch with a
community is Yet-Another-Web-Forum.

(It would have been nice to have the integrated search from Gnus back,
and occasionally I miss being able to quickly refer to the web page form
of an article, but I can live fine with just the NNTP)
