I'd imagine gmane.org still scores highly on the sort of things SEO
people crave - I checked one of the sites that claim to measure
these things (which I won't glorify with the oxygen of publicity)
and that suggests gmane.org has nearly 5 million incoming links
from over 13 thousand domains.  Even if that's not accurate, I bet
many of the regular bidders on these expired domain auctions check
such sites when decide what to bid on and how much to bid.

It's good it got renewed I guess, but frustrating that the current
owners seem so unresponsive.
