Thank you.  I ought to have read that page before asking.
But is it not possible to post to that list via Gmane after
subscribing to it and aquiring the posting privilege?  Will
the list "see" the post as coming from Gmane rather than
from my e-mail?

What editor did you use to make the hanging quotation mark?
