Backups and save default

Hello Abiword-user

OS is Win7-64

Main question:
How might one auto save next to last edit as *.bak, or do incrementals?
User is now at high risk.

Just curious.

but no Abiword.PROFILE found, system.profile found. 
Would adding
<Scheme
 name="_custom_"
 ZoomPercentage="116"
 DefaultSaveFormat=".doc"
 />
to system.profile work?
Other file formats?
