Many thanks for the help... bit beyond me at present. I need to do the
linux  "must do" - do a Linux From Scratch install and learn from the
'ground up'. So I'll have to wait until the new stable version is
released. The problem I gather is that debian (and derivatives) no
longer have a dependency for ver 2.8.6 hence why the development ver
2.9.2 had to be included.

I hope this doesn't seem like a daft question. Why can't the
dependency files be included in the Abiword package? It seems Times
font is and I was wondering why it can't be done.
