I have been using jedit without any issues on CentOS 7.
A week ago, I updated the CentOS 7 OS and now jedit no longer fully boots,
but rather hangs where it displays the tip dialog box. It refuses to
respond to mouse and keyboard inputs.
I have to use kill -9 on the PID of the jedit process for the hanged jedit
to close.

I have tried to install the jedit "jedit5.6.0install.jar" jar file using
jdk-17.0.4.1/bin/java but the installation also hangs when the dialog box
reads "GNU General Public License".

The current CentOS 7 I have is shown below.

3.10.0-1160.76.1.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Aug 10 16:21:17 UTC 2022

Allan.
