Test left-pointing white triangle (the left-hand box is an image, i.e.

I get the correct display in Firefox.  If you don't, you might go into 
Firefox's options and adjust the font it uses.  I do not have Chrome 
installed (I dislike its "we know what you need better than you do" 
attitude), so I don't know how it does on these two characters.

It certainly doesn't cover all fonts, just (some of) those that have
