Can't reproduce it either. I used the exact same version as Robert Schwenn.

@Bob: 

- Which Oracle version did you *exactly* use, i.e. the minor version below 1.8?

- Does the error also occur when you disable all plugins?

- When you say "selecting the text", do you simply mean "click and move the mouse", or do you also mean "copy the selected text into the clipboard"? In the latter case, do you have any other tools running on Windows which monitor the clipboard history?

- Does the same behaviour occur, when you select the text not by moving the mouse, but by clicking into the text and extending the selection with SHIFT+Cursorkeys?
