Hi all, I just got the very latest Win10 on my development system (goodbye win7! it was good..) and surprisingly of all the dev software I use, jEdit has been the hardest to get going in Win10. I have *exactly* the problem that jana1972 has. I have that version of java (verified with "java -version"), I'm trying to use jEdit 5.6, and I always get the same Java Runtime Environment 11 required message. I'm fully stuck, I've installed several versions (?) of Java, which I know zero about, and no go. I really hate to give up on jEdit, I've used it now and then for 15 years. Can anyone help with a step by step for me? (and may I suggest ... that a step by step be in a FAQ or on the main download page, since an install on a clean Win10 should be straightforward ...)
