1. Did you install JRE 11 or better?
2. Is it your default?
* open a command prompt and do "java -version"
Once that is verified...
Install jEdit with the Windows installer or the java-based installer.
I really wish jEdit used a "setenv.bat" or "setenv.sh" so you could
manually set startup items.
