In times of limited baudrates and slow terminals it made sense to reduce the number of full updates of the screen, but nowadays... And if one wants to be efficient, then nothing beats nano's default behavior (which it copied from Pico, who copied it from uEmacs) of scrolling just one line by a large step. Anyway, making this step configurable would be overkill. The large-cursor- jump functions proposed in the previous email would be more useful, I think. Benno
