What Happened to alt+z for suspend?

Hi All: Yesterday we had an hour power outage. Today we got home from 
Vegas-and-my suspend is broken again. I was trying to suspend alpine with alt+z  
but in the nano rc file, says something about
bind ^Z suspend main
That is not even commented out. Why do they keep messing up this option? Thanks
