I too have a problem with 64 bit CentOS 5.4. I lost my meta keys and mouse when editing files on a remote system via ssh. A reboot of the local system did not fix the problem. I can login to the remote system from other systems and all is OK. I have yet to resolve the issue. I suspect a configuration file on the local system has been corrupted. However, nedits on the local system do not exhibit the problem. So, there is no problem logged in as myself (NFS), or as a local user on the target system. The problem occurs when "ssh -X remote_box -l me", but only from this one target system.
