I have the same problem. I remember it being discussed quite a bit a few ye=
ars ago,
not recently so maybe there is a fix. In addition to clipboard paste not wo=
rking
(while middle-click X paste works), there is a problem of garbage in the wi=
ndow
when old text is not cleared before new text is written (which can be clear=
ed by
^A select all to force a redraw) and sometimes the ^F find dialog box won't=
accept
any input. It's not really a problem of nedit but incompatibility between =
nedit and
the X-server, because logging into theproblematice nachine (FC8) from a wor=
king
machine (FC6 or redhat 7.3) and running nedit works perfectly, wheras going=
the
other way has these problems. So, it's the machine running the X-server whi=
ch
determines whether or not the problems ocurr, not the version of nedit.
The discussion focused on motif, and I think people were installing openmot=
if
instead of lesstif, but in fact I have exactly the same lesstif on the FC6
(working) and FC8 (not working) systems.
on FC8:
