I installed automake and aclocal using the msysDTK installer, I didn't
compile it from sources.
The .m4 files are in /share/aclocal-1.7 and aclocal reads in there
because if I remove the wxwin.m4, it complains about AM_OPTIONS_WXCONFIG
being missing.

I installed autoconf 2.59 by unzipping the tar.bz2 binary package
availble from the MinGW website. Nothing more, nothing less.
As running autoconf manually yields the same errors, it must be a broken
installation. I've tried calling autoconf this way:

autoconf -I /share/autoconf/autoconf/

as some m4 files are in there, but that didn't help either. And google
is really not helping here. Maybe I'll have to build from source, but
I'd rather not have to do this.

Thanks a lot for your time
Olivier
