Hi, Yes, they use msgid as a part of script, and you are supposed to _replace_ the original text (placed in msgstr) with your translation. It has something to do with the way PO file is generated. As far as I understand, PO does not "naturaly" go with java, so you have to use some sort of converter, ie moz2po and po2moz, which extracts strings from java dtd files and inserts them into (newly generated) PO file. This is complicated (extremely on Win), you have to do one by one dtd/po, prone to errors and hard on updates. One of the reasons why I gave up on such stuff. Error goes toward the person who created that particular PO file. Plone is CMS application, like Mambo, Joomla or Drupal. Plone also uses this strange option, but what is even stranger, not for all of the lines or files!
