Nope, here is what I just tried:
Open a catalog
Select whichever entry I want
Select the word I want
Press Ctrl+C
Press Ctrl+F
Press Ctrl+V
Uncheck the "Find in translations" checkbox
Click Next

Here it finds the very first entry that has the selection I pasted in it.

Hum, searching in the entire translation memory, I'm not sure. Searching 
in the entire current catalog, that works well.
