Are you sure you're using pre2 and not pre1? Because I fixed this... 
If you _do_ get this error with pre2, please provide  everything 
(i.e., files and detailed instructions) needed to reproduce it, 
because I can't see it here.

As for the rest, that's xgettext output warning you about bad 
programming practices (from the gettext i18n POV) and I think the 
messages are pretty self-explanatory...
