You have to get off that 386X machine, man!  :)

Anyhow, does it get better the "next time" - cached data has to be 
brought in the first time, so I'd expect that to be slower.

I've not noticed this behavior too much - will keep an eye out. I do now 
have fiber connection at home, so that should help.
