Raul's UoWS is an excellent idea. We hope to encourage the UWICS members to
assist with that project. Because of the popularity and reach of the UoWS
it may also be relatively easy to get corporate sponsors. And as for
computers richjob has five PCs just missing RAM and a couple other things
but usable. There's also a couple more at my office that we're disposing
soon.

Funny you should mention the NICT plan. I was browsing it during lunch last
week and I see they want to implement a similar community centre idea. But
I was talking to devindra ramnarine and based on what he said and also from
what I can interpret from the NICT plan, their idea is to place dedicated
internet machines, a concept they call e-parlours or in the real world,
internet kiosks. This is basically restrictive you cannot run training
courses (literacy, programming, productivity tools, photoshop, etc) over
these machines.

The NICT plan is very ambitious to say the least. I'm dedicating my lunch
hours this week to read it fully and I'll comment some more when I do.
