Point taken ameena. But where government primary schools are concerned, it
might be a bit difficult to get the ministry's approval to put computers in
their schools, especially with the vision 20/20 plans.........

A better idea would be to concentrate on the software side, but I've been
hearing that the ministry has entered a deal to acquire software licenses
for all schools.........shiva, if you can update us with anything new?

My view is the CIPS project concentrate in areas where it can be effective,
for example in private institutions where money isn't as readily
available.........schools run by the various religious boards are good
examples.

However, the CIS is an open community. If anyone wants to install computers
in a government school then by all means proceed and the CIS will assist
where it can. I want to emphasise that we are still a voluntary group. If
an idea is brought forward, then that person must be willing to be active in
making it a reality.

In about two weeks I'll be finished with exams so I'll have a little more
time to focus on following up with CIS activities. The first thing would be
to have meetings in both north and south with interested parties
(stakeholders) so we can get a better idea of what is required by the
primary schools. From that we should be able to develop projects and
hopefully we can get funding to implement some of them........

Allan.
