Websites for Schools

This email hereby announces the unofficial launch of another CIS member
project, Websites for Schools.

The information below is to be considered the first draft and is open for
comment.  I hope to have the content for the CIS website done by this
weekend and this (draft) project will be included.

Project Title:
Websites for Schools

Beneficiaries:
Academic institutions, knowledge centres.

Goal:
The Websites for Schools project will provide a means by which schools can
begin to develop their online presence easily and affordably.

Objectives:
1. Identify ways to make obtaining domain names afforable.
2. Identify ways to make obtaining web-hosting afforable.
3. Create a solution to allow beneficiaries to develop and maintain their
own website without the need for intensive training.
4. Promote the use of Open Source products as affordable and useful tools.
