I have sent about 4 emails to miss Lozada to ask how educons can
participate through a sponsored invitation but she hasn't replied until
today.
So we applied for 2 oas fellowships to be able to attend but this is
still being processed. Hopefully we'll be there.

This message is to inform you about our "Third Regional Workshop on
Computers for Schools (CFS), Computers refurbishing program as a tool of
digital literacy and social inclusion", that will take place in
Kingston, Jamaica from February 21 to 24, 2005.  Mrs. Nancy George from
UTech sent a message to this list a couple of weeks ago regarding this
event.

This regional workshop is being organized by the  Organization of
American States (OAS), the Institute for Connectivity in the Americas
(ICA), and the Ministry of Industry from Canada (Industry Canada, IC),
with the support of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)
and the collaboration of the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech).


I will post more information on the event and the profile of
participants in the CIVIC resource center.  Please take a look at these
documents. We request your assistance to locate key and relevant
institutions from all the Caribbean countries that could benefit from
this event. 

Please note that the collaborating institutions will select the event's
sponsored invitees from a pool of potential candidates BEFORE DECEMBER
15TH.
