Right. Split the marbles. So...., let's split them by removing a layer of about 2 milimeters from the back side. (Or... should that be a thousandth of an inch...?) The colonial museum keeps the back layer. The other part is returned to Greece. Aah... My mistake. I wrote "the colonial museum". I should have written "the directors of the colonial museum". Well... these days they seem to be only ones opposing the return, aren't they? Another proposal: Return the Parthenon marbles to Greece. Then we may continue this, um..., this debate from that point on. Surely if it is ok (oll killed) for Greece to have this discussion while the marbles are kept at the British museum, it should be ok for the director of the museum to continue this discussion while the marbles are in fact in Greece. Another solution: Dismiss the director of the museum and appoint another one with views for returning the marbles. Problem solved. _____________________ Lampros F. Kallenos Idalion, Lefkosia Kypros -.
