While we are very grateful for the huge popularity of sudoku, the daily quiz and the concise and cryptic crosswords, we also appreciate that a well-balanced puzzles section should include a few challenges that are somewhat more niche. The prime example among our pages is the O Tempora! Latin crossword. The series launched on October 10, 2015, and today we are celebrating a significant milestone as we publish puzzle No CC (200!). 

Each O Tempora! puzzle consists of clues in Latin or English with answers exclusively in Latin. As far as we are aware, a weekly puzzle of this type is unique across the entire globe. As a consequence, we have a diehard set of regular solvers for whom each Saturday's challenge is a not-to-be-missed classical treat.

The very first puzzle in the series was set by Auctor. He has since been joined by Lanifica and Basil, with occasional appearances by Formosa. Today's puzzle, by Basil, contains a hidden reference in the completed grid to O Tempora!'s double century. If you have a smattering of Latin lodged in your memory banks, but have never given OT! a go, there's no better time to have a bash.
