Glamorising a rabble of civilian-murdering, kneecapping terrorists by comparing them to ancient heroes, while repulsive, does perhaps have one useful effect: it makes one question what on earth the point of the Trojan war was. Never mind the mythical excuse of a petty quarrel between goddesses -- if this war actually happened more or less as described, why was a gang of assorted Greeks trying to destroy a city in Asia Minor, and why should we admire their conduct in doing so?
