Working through a French essay right now I come across the word *quiproquo*,
which translates as "misunderstanding."  Not exactly what the White House
means.  It's always intriguing when the same word can mean two different
things in different countries (I had examples but have of course  forgotten
them).


Would love to hear from someone who's actually worked on this.
