Yes, Jebb translates as =E2=80=98wonder/terror=E2=80=99. Heidegger I studie=
d closely in my
youth.



BUT: is it not strange that in English (I could name probably 30 versions
off the top of my head) that speak of the *wonder* of man=E2=80=94while, in=
 German,
man is predominantly *Ungeheuer* / *Ungeheuere*r? I believe this German
word conveys: monstrous, scandalous, iniquitous, enormous, incredible=E2=80=
=A6



Perhaps =E2=80=98incredible=E2=80=99 is getting close to =E2=80=98wondrous=
=E2=80=99. So the multivalent
Greek is echoed in the multivalent German.



But are there, *also*, German translations that take the more English, more
purely 'wondrous' view?



Hopefully, today, I=E2=80=99ll have time to read all those references =E2=
=80=93 thanks!
