In ScienceDirect, I right click on the PDF and copy link to get the proxied PDF document URL. When I open the PDF it seems to create a session id in the URL line. We can access the PDF OK, even though the proxy is dropped, but if you click on any of the links within the PDF – like the reference list – the proxy isn’t added so users aren’t authenticated if it is one of our subs. I think a lot of people will just download the PDF as Dino says but it’d be nice to carry the ezproxy through. The pdf has no problem showing even though the proxy has dropped. From this pdf page, I guess usually the user will just close the windows after downloading so it should not create any problem, IMHO.
