We just upgraded to Firefox ESR 68.1.0 today and the blank PDF page also occurs outside an EZproxy session so I changed the default browser setting for PDF.

Aside from the Interface directive mentioned on the list recently to resolve connections via IPv4 (instead of via IPv6), I have these directives declared globally near the top of our config which you might find useful:

# Enable /auth URL to force authentication for excluded ranges, use for testing
# See: http://www.oclc.org/support/documentation/ezproxy/cfg/optionrequireauthenticate/
Option RequireAuthenticate
# Allow AJAX requests
HTTPHeader -request -process X-Requested-With
# Allow frames on EBSCOhost and other sites, e.g. Link 2.0's helper frames
HTTPHeader -global -response -block X-Frame-Options
# Resolve mobile access problems reported by other institutions
HTTPHeader Access-Token



And, if you still aren't running EZproxy ver.6.2.2+ :-O, then you should also declare:
HTTPHeader X-JSON

(as mentioned here: https://help.oclc.org/Library_Management/EZproxy/EZproxy_release_notes_and_known_issues/2016_Release_notes/EZproxy_release_notes_November_2016).

Yes, thank you for this! What I also found was that, in addition to adding this line to our stanza, the Firefox setting for opening PDFs (Tools > Options > Applications) had to be set to "Preview in Firefox". None of the others worked for me, and still got the blank page.

My colleague managed to resolve this one for us earlier this month. You need to add the following to the Wiley stanza:

So, the first part of our stanza now reads:

I tested the PDF open at our end, I got the same blank page issue when viewing PDF in Firefox.  And I noticed this only happen to book chapter, viewing PDF of journal article is working.

We are also having the same issue - initially their support suggested clearing cache and cookies, when that didn't work they suggested updating Java. Finally I think they got sick of us complaining and said that they escalated it to their development team.



One thing we did figure out is if you add 'direct' to the pdf part of the URL (eg: https://uaccess.univie.ac.at/login?url=https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdfdirect/10.1002/9780470939406.ch20<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/0cLoCr810kC133VoCjyojb?domain=uaccess.univie.ac.at>) that seemed to work but otherwise we are still waiting to hear back from them.

has anyone out there also problems opening PDF at Wiley with Firefox and EZproxy?

All we get at the moment is an empty screen (https://uaccess.univie.ac.at/login?url=https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1002/9780470939406.ch20<https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/QqmMCBNqgBCMJJ6BiprQpA?domain=antispam.csu.edu.au>).

I contacted Wiley support but they argue this has something to do with the browser setting. As solution I was asked to change settings in the preferences tab to "Preview in Firefox".

But this doesn't work for me! No matter what I select nothing changes.

All other tested browser (chrome, IE 11) work fine. Firefox in use is 69.0.1.

Any recommendation out there?
