Hi all,

Just to update everyone here, the issue with Online Reading is resolved now.

Thanks to Ray and ProQuest Tech Support Team for following up.
They were rolling out a new reader for EPUB files that will allow ProQuest to offer many more titles for online reading when this issue surfaced.
IT has nothing to do with ezproxy stanza.

Thanks to all who have replied and did the testing too.

Hi Laszlo,

That's weird. My colleague managed to find something on the PQ admin page.
She told me that it was labelled that this title is not available for "Online Reading or Chapter Download".
We are checking with vendor now, if it is so, why show the "Online Reading" button?

We are able to do online reading for other title except this one.

Hi Dino.

I believe this is working for me. I am using the Proquest stanza at https://help.oclc.org/Library_Management/EZproxy/Database_stanzas/ProQuest dated 2019-07-22.

Best,

Laszlo.

Subject: [EZPROXY-L] ProQuest eBook read online issue?

Hi all,

Could someone try to replicate and see if you can get the same error?

1. Go to Proquest Ebook Central, off-campus

2. Search for this title "Self-Care for College Students : From Orientation to Graduation"

3. Click onto the title of the first result

4. Select "Read Online" on the left side

5. Did you get an Alert message saying "Error! There was a problem. Please refresh and try again"

I wonder if this is an ezproxy issue or the lack of "third-party software" which is printed under Availability?

I am able to "Download Book" but not "Read Online" and it happens on this title only, so far.
