The University of Pennsylvania Libraries invites organized, energetic, and service-oriented applicants with excellent communication and problem-solving skills for two positions within our Acquisitions, Access, & Licensing (AAL) Department, part of the Collections Division.  These positions will support the research, teaching and learning mission of the Penn Libraries by participating in management of the lifecycle of the Libraries’ electronic resources, including acquisition, licensing, discovery, access, maintenance, and evaluation.

 eResource Acquisitions & Licensing Librarian

This position will focus on acquiring and licensing content that supports the teaching and research mission of the University and ensuring students, faculty, and staff have rational and consistent access to the broad range of scholarly and research resources provided through the University Libraries. The incumbent will collaborate with bibliographers, consortia partners, and other entities on campus, and will negotiate with vendors for favorable business and license terms. The incoming candidate will be one who successfully works both independently and collaboratively, takes initiative, and follows through effectively.

 eResources Access Librarian

This position will focus on supporting and improving access to and discovery of library entitlements across multiple platforms and explore new and existing identity management controls.  The incumbent will collaborate with staff in internal and external groups to ensure accessibility and usability.  Position will participate in departmental troubleshooting and work to resolve the most complex access problems, respond to reported issues, and work with internal and external partners to fix issues in a timely manner. Librarian will also participate in the eresource lifecycle of licensing, purchases, renewals and cancellations.
