Vendor responded to QUT overnight: “We did have issues with our site but this has now been resolved.” I do not concur, and am following up.

We’re still also seeing very long initial load times and  - this morning at least – new 504 errors when connecting directly to the service from on-campus.
Wording of those indicates some CloudFront connectivity issue.

Proxied connections are also very slow but the service does load eventually and core functionality then looks ok.
However I haven’t yet tested quizzes and activities (via https)

Our members are able to connect currently, but the initial load time is ~60 seconds (far longer than the average user will wait for a site to load).  We initially ran into this slow loading issue about 2 weeks ago and had to raise our connection timeouts for the site to eventually load if the user waited long enough.  After the initial load, the site seems to work normally.

Right now, I'm intermittently receiving "Bad Referral" and "Bad Horizontal Referral" DNS messages from the .tv servers, so depending on Primal's hosting setup, this looks like either a DNS or GSLB issue at their hosting environment, or perhaps an issue on the .tv zone delegation.

When I was able to get a good answer, it returned:

Those IP addresses may be useful to you to institute a local workaround until Primal's issue is resolved.

We were told explicitly by Primal to NOT use https.  Portions of the site will work, but the quizzes and activities will not until they rewrite that portion of their site to not use flash (or update the flash application to allow for https URLs).  If you are not using quizzes and activities, then you can probably get away with using https, but last I was told (about a month ago) is it not supported by Primal, even though they have it enabled on their site.

I think they recently cut over to a new site with HTTPS. My starting point URL was going to some more specific interior page and it wasn’t loading at all. I just tried it now and it is slow to load, but it does load eventually.

Check that your stanza has HJ lines for https and http and you should be ok.
